STAR WARS AOTC " MASSIFF" w/ GENOSIAN WARRIOR MOC

The pros to this piece:
1) There are indeed two figures being provided here (sort of), but the "second figure," being an animal, is hard to really consider a "figure." Still, the massiff is a nice addition if you want to have something to add to the "arena beasts/figures" appeal because it isn't a bad piece.
2) The massiff's detail is nice, with it moving in a few ways that surprised me. Its look is nice, too, with the expression and the pose giving it a very menacing appeal.

Cons:
1) While the massiff looks good, the Genosian warrior looks horrible. Comparing the prior Genoshian release with this one shows just how rushed the paint job was, with the coloration looking dull and lifeless. I mean, a bit of color difference is expected, but this is a bit too much.
2) The lifeless wing "nubs" this figure has are really unattractive pieces, especially compared to its predecessor Granted, the Star War's realm does have room in it for two types of Genosians, but the first release, with colorfully decorative (posable) wings, make this seem like a joke. If they wanted wingless, then these body-colored humps should have been left off altogether.
3) The figure can't stand with the mastiff. They don't actually even out, making the Warrior fall over 9/10 times. Perhaps this is being a bit picky, but I'd like for my figures to stand.
4) The accessories are horrible hard to remove from the massiff. If you like them attached, this could be a good thing. If you want one "roaming free," however, then you take the chance of mangling your accessories trying to free them.
5) Lastly, the figure's points of articulation are something of a bad joke. I've seen cardboard that could move more than this figure.

Basically, I wouldn't recommend this figure to anyone except the diehard who needs to acquire the little "odds and ends." I gave it a 5 in the educational arena because of this, noting that I really learned something about designwork here.

As I did with my Reek review, I'll list this products goods and bads. Though you never actually see something like this in the movie, it's a cool set. Just in case you don't know, a Massif is a kind of dog like reptile.
Goods:
1. This set comes with a Massif AND a Geonosian as well; you're pretty much getting two figures for the price of one!
2. For those of you who have purchased or seen the Nexus and Acklays boxes (these are seperate sets), you'll notice that they are attacking a Geonosian: the one in this set! So this would be an oppertunity to recreate those box scenes.
3. The detail and painting is good, especially on the Massif.
4. The whole thing just looks cool, and actually kind of funny. Seeing a Geonosian walk his Massif like somebody would walk their dog.
Bads: It might be a little hard to get the harness on and off of the Massif, but that is why I gave this product a 3 for education: it takes time and patience.
2. This Geonosian does not have any wings like the other one did, but there are two types of Geonosians: with wing and without wings, that's strait from the star wars dictionary, it has nothing to do with products
Overall: A fun (and somewhat funny) toy.
Recommendations:
I recommend pretty much any of the arena beasts:
1. Reek - arena battle beast
2. Nexu w/snapping jaw & attack roar
3. Acklay - arena battle beast

This Figure is awesome! The bug guy is so detailed! When I was looking at figures in the store, I saw the figure and immediately picked it up! The saddle even comes off of the creature! I would highly recommend buying this figure! It is so detailed!
