Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This playset allows you to re-create the major battle scenes from Episode II of the Star Wars series. Add figures, vehicles, and accessories (all sold separately) to re-create the Geonosian arena battle; the Battle Droid and Super Battle Droid factory; the climactic duel in the "secret" hangar; the arrival of the Clone Troopers in the Republic Gunship; or other scenes. The playset features different environments on each side.

4 out of 5 stars This is all very Familar......   October 10, 2008
Back in 2002 I bought a GI-Joe action figure playset and I am just now realising that both look very familar. When I looked at the GI-Joe playset carefully, I saw little molds of battle droids and lots of star wars related things molded into the walls an floor. It seems that Hasbro let another company use their mold to make a playset. I'm not saying this toy is bad, it's just that it's strange that there are two comepletly different playsets that use the EXACT same mold.

5 out of 5 stars Fun for kids, fun to display   September 15, 2003

Kids will love this one. It comes in a huge box. It's easy to assemble. It's fun to set up the figures for battle. Oh, yeah, the kids under 12 will enjoy it too; for the same reasons.

The nice thing is, one can work with the perimeters to make the play area larger or smaller. figures can be placed in the playset in 1000's of different ways, allowing for a child to use their creativeness.

For display purposes, one will need a good amount of space. But,
that is outweighed by the fact that you won't lose space, because you can display many figures. I have about 25 figures on display in mine, and, plan to fit in several more. There's room for at least 10 more, as it is set up now. With the flexibility of the outer gates, I can possibly double that number.

The only really downside to this is for the pricetag, there wasn't even one figure included. They could have included a couple "exclusives" to make this a more attractive offer. But, nevertheless, this is indeed a fun one to work with. Therefore,
I do give it a full 5 star rating.

5 out of 5 stars why?   August 26, 2003

This is very big. Too big to store, yet too small to really stage any epic battle. Plus it's disproportioned; just look at those tiny Geonosians in the stickers. One may ask the question, Why? Why buy a playset that's inherantly just a huge chunk o' plastic? If you ask yourself this, and you still want it, well... fine. For what it is, it exceeds splendidly, but come on, this is what imaginations are for.

5 out of 5 stars Great Battle Arena   February 14, 2003

My Son wanted this toy for Christmas and his Birthday but it has never been in ANY of the major stores carrying the battle figures. I do not know why... it is a great toy for the price and my son loves to have the realistic Star Wars scenery to play with his figurines on. I highly recommend it for Star Wars fans!

5 out of 5 stars battle arena   February 10, 2003

First of all, in answer to the man's question how about getting action figures right here online or at KB Toys or Target etc... Back to the point the Battle arena is fantastic, with detail and cool little odds and ends and, best part of all, the back part of it can be used as the droid factory. Add in 2 battle droids, 2 super battle droids, Dooku, Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Mace Windu, 10 jedi or more, the republic gunship (which is fantastic by the way, a must have) and clone troopers, and you can re-create the final 25 minutes of Attack of the Clones.
