Product Description In the climactic final episode to the prequel trilogy, Anakin Skywalker is armed with the weapon he will one day hand down to his son, Luke Skywalker. This weapon is destined to battle on, through "Revenge of the Sith" and beyond—to the first stories told on film, which began with the release of Episode IV in 1977. Thus, the prop designers were charged with retaining the iconic lightsaber's original look, which was based on an antique camera flash, while revising it in such a way that would fit with the 2005 film's design aesthetic. From the lightsaber used in Episode IV ("A New Hope"), they copied the placement of the flash's "red button," but replaced the "glass eye" with a copper-painted dome. The remaining details follow the Episode V ("The Empire Strikes Back") version and include 6 co-molded rubber hand grips, a knurled center band and a unique laser-etched design in the control-box top, which looks like a printed circuit board. A brass activation switch and 18K gold-plated accent parts—along with plastic clip for attachment to the belt—complete the design. The hilt is made of machined aluminum and brass, the grips are co-molded rubber and injection-molded plastic. Engineered from the actual prop used in filming, it is a limited edition replica and comes with a custom-designed display case, numbered metal display plaque and certificate of authenticity. Display case has a matte black base, mirrored floor, acrylic supports and acrylic dust cover. Saber: approx. 11Lx1" dia. Display case: 14Lx4-3/4Wx6H".

The Blade of a Jedi July 25, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I must say that this piece is absolutly exquisit. I have made a habbit of collecting swords and i have many pieces from The Lord of the Rings, i was looking at them i have swords, knives, but the one thing i did not have was a lightsaber, the ultimate sword. Now that i have it... it is awesome. It is beautifuly crafted and feels sturdy and durriable. As well it comes with very elegant papers and cerifiricates of authentication. This is by far my favorate piece in my collection, and it looks awesome. The only minus is that when i look at it i wish there was some decoration behind it. Because i see this fantastic lightsaber, then my wall, oh well maybe a poster will make it look better. But still this wepon is beautiful and it feels real, like i could push the button and the saphire blade would hum to life. But alas the tecnology of a real lightsaber eludes us, but until then this the best to be had.
