Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
When the battle begins on Geonosis, clone trooper Scorch is ordered to engage the Separatist droid army. Scorch's Delta number is Six-Two, but he is well known for his humorous mishaps. Although he is a competent soldier and an excellent explosives technician, "Scorch" earned his nickname after an ordnance accident that left him without eyebrows for a short time. Includes 2" hologram figure. Figure measures 4".

5 out of 5 stars Grandson's reward   June 11, 2007

When I asked my 8 year old Grandson what he wanted for another straight A report card he excitedly told me "Scorch"! Oh dear ... where DO I find one? I told him to sit down with me and we'd search Amazon and their shops. Wa La! There it was. We ordered it right then and in three days had it here. His 30 year old Uncle thought Scorch was great also. When you are a true Star Wars fan, figures like this are exciting.

4 out of 5 stars SCORCH   November 10, 2006

Some figures are hard to find and make it to the stores once if we're lucky. Scorch (TSC# 21) is no exception. The wisecrack Clone Trooper from the 2004 X-Box Star Wars game, Republic Commando has now been realized in plastic.

He appears in the third wave in Hasbro's "The Saga Collection", and is, in a way, the star of that assortment. Yes, there is the Utapau Clone Trooper, which is most definately a wonderful figure, but that is a repaint (Of last years Clone Trooper). Scorch on the other hand is part of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, the material that is storyline-accurate and created by LFL, but not in the movies (EU characters are usually from comic books, video games, TV shows and novels). Scorch is also a new sculpt which we have not seen many of this year. Not that The Saga Collection is a bad toy line, don't get me wrong, it's my favorite yet, but it's mostly repaints, repacks, and retools.

That being said, Scorches sculpt is a thing of beauty. His helmet is carved to perfection (Or however close to it we can get) and his torso joint is well hidden by his wonderfully crafted armor. His legs, too are sculpted nicely. They are made in an action pose (Which I will get to later) and are slightly different from that of a normal trooper's legs. The arms are nothing to be ashamed of either, they are probably one of the best parts in this figure. They are game-accurate and have all the ridges and bumps of the man-in-armor's costume.

Another bit that's pretty neat is the paint job on this figure. There are no sloppy bits, and the designs are painted in an organized allignment, There is not much to be said about this factor in the figure. It does have nice battle damage for this soldier of the Galactic Republic who must see a lot of action.

And when the above two things come together, we get accesories! The included parts are fun, and well sculpted. The painting on it is beautiful. The accesories themselves are the good but needed ones. They are the DC-17 Clone Rifle with Anti-Armor attachment and a Backpack/Jetpack object. Also included are a display base which reads "Republic Commando Scorch" from the side, and "Star Wars" from the top. And with Hasbro we get gimmicks. This year's is mini Hologram figures. They're a nice touch, but are partly to blame for the price hike from $5.99 to $6.99. They are randomly assorted in three colors Blue (For the first few shipped assortments), red (For the current figures), and mettalic (For the Ultimate Galactic Hunt Chase Variations). Included in my copy was a red Rebel Fleet Trooper. These things are sculpted as well as you can sculpt a one inch tall translucent figure, I guess.

The articulation, or posability points, on this figure, were contraversial throughout the Star Wars fan community. I myself was dissapointed, but in my un-biased opinion, he's okay. The leg articulation is the only real slip on this figure. Even so, I'm fine, because, waist-up, Scorch is perfect. I don't consider this at all as bad as the completely lacking figure from 2005, Commander Bacara, which featured a defective action feature.

The value in this figure is really what you asked for. A seven dollar action figure w/ accesories. No more, no less. While the price hike irks me, it is easy for me to say that Scorch is well worth my seven bucks.

Overall, this is no perfect Clone. But he's pretty good, and I think for an EU figure, which is a treat coming from Hasbro, I can say that Scorch is a good figure. So don't pass him up when you see him at regular retai, you may never get the chance again.

Overall Grade: A-

Commander Scorch is awesome! He is one of the most rare figures in the world. He should be. I can't wait to get my hands on him. I love his accessories. He comes with a backpack and a legpack.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible new figure   May 26, 2006

I finally have Scorch, one of the rarest figures in the Saga collection, and it's fantastic! The only disapointment is the non-articulated knees and feet, but that doesn't matter too much.

This awesome figure has a great sculpt that looks exactly like a clone commando. The paint is also nice, it makes it look battle damaged and may be the most realistic "damage" I've seen Hasbro use. It includes 4 accessories: Backpack, Leg pack, DC-17m blaster, and a stand. The articulated points are: Ball jointed head, swivel arms, ball jointed elbows, swivel hands, ball jointed body, and swivel legs.

And it's very rare, so if you see it you really should buy it!
